Meghan Brown

Meghan Brown is a lifelong Presbyterian who grew up in a large urban church dedicated to mission in Dallas, Texas. During high school and at Harvard College, Meghan studied fine arts, specializing in drawing, sculpture, printmaking, and conceptual art.

After college, she served as a YAV on the US-Mexico border as a youth director at a small, bilingual Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Arizona. There, she had the opportunity to serve the church community and the humanitarian needs
of passing migrants. Afterwards, Meghan attended seminary at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. During her time in Atlanta, Meghan volunteered in refugee resettlement, completed a chaplain internship an residency at a large trauma hospital and at a geriatric hospital, and completed a certificate for Interfaith Spiritual Direction.

Previously married to a foreign diplomat, Meghan spent 4 years in Ottawa where she served as an associate pastor within the Presbyterian Church in Canada and had two children, Inez (9) and Lucia (6).

After Ottawa, Meghan and her family lived in Mexico City until 2021. In Mexico, Meghan worked as the Country Coordinator for Young Adults in Global Mission, a service program within the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Since moving to DC in 2021, Meghan has worked for Lutheran Volunteer Corps, a domestic volunteer program serving our region.

Meghan currently lives in Glover Park with her daughters and two gerbils (Moonlight and Sunshine). Meghan has a twin brother, speaks fluent Spanish, loves fashion and textile design, being active and outside, and especially enjoys spending time with her daughters, friends, and family.
